Design and connectivity of the Hisense 65U7HQ
I have to say that, of the many Hisense models that I have analyzed, aesthetically this is one of my favorites or at least it is at the top. They started, like most low-cost Chinese brands, cutting costs in this regard. But the truth is that now they are doing very well, at least with this model.
It is dark gray in color with very well defined thin borders . These do not embrace the panel but serve as a support for it, which is completely exposed to the air; very pretty indeed.
It has a large metal central support that makes the panel, however large, perfectly balanced. It is in the form of a kind of U made with a thin sheet of metal.
With this base, the Hisense 65U7HQ measures 891 x 1451 x 307 mm and weighs 19.9 kilograms . Of course, if you want or need to do without the bracket, you can hang the panel on the wall using a VESA bracket.
Tuning and connectivity
A more than reasonable model in this aspect, really.
Tune in to digital, terrestrial and also cable via DVB-T/T2/S/S2/C . In addition to the digital one, you have the traditional NTSC/PAL/SECAM analog tuner . The CI+ has been maintained, for years, at version 1.3. It also includes HbbTV (even with the Assistant HbbTV software ) but we don’t know, at the moment, the version.
Physically we have already shown you what is in the image. Even so, it is a combo of two HDMI 2.0 inputs and another two in 2.1, two USB, 2.0 and 3.0, RJ45 plug, composite AV, L/F audio jack and S/PDIF optical output .
Image quality and general functions
This television stands out, in addition to its design (to my liking, of course), for a much improved image compared to previous years. Of course, we must consider that it is a superior model, not the typical one offered to the average user.
The model is defined as a Quantum Dots ULED . We already know what this means, the use of quantum dots coupled with Hisense’s signature ULED lighting. This achieves a superior visual quality thanks to a greater vibrancy of colors and the improvement of details.
In addition, this television is compatible with the HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision IQ standards, which means that it will play the highest quality content at the moment.
The firm has put effort into local dimming, which has integrated it completely (Full LED) , breaking down the panel into hundreds of parts so that they are analyzed individually and turned off or not depending on the details of each image. It is accompanied by a maximum brightness of 600 cd/m2 . Both aspects make the contrast obtained more than satisfactory and realistic.
The panel has a native rate of 100 Hz that can be increased to 120 depending on the content and the input port. Furthermore, Hisense awards no more and no less than 2600 of its frame interpolation PCI points .
The latter, in addition to helping us with fast content such as action or those full of special effects, is also useful if you want to use the television to play games. We also find that, via HDMI, we can activate ALLM, Freesync and VRR technologies , in addition to having a specific game mode that calibrates the properties of the TV.
oh! By the way! With this model they also sign up for the Filmmaker Mode !
Audio
The little we know, for now, about the Hisense 65U7HQ’s audio is that it has, like most, 20 W RMS on 2.0 channels. It features support for Dolby Atmos and also DTS Virtual: X ; good formats, really.
Software/smartTV analysis
Hisense is one of the low cost brands that has already become quite well known but still does not fall for the inclusion of Android TV. In this case, the model comes with VIDAA U6.0 as the operating system.
This can be customized at the beginning, being able to edit the channels and even taking your favorite photos to make up your profile.
In its store (specific to Hisense) you will find the best-known universal apps (some are already pre-installed) and used, but also others that are unique to VIDAA .
You have the option to choose between Google Assistant or Alexa to help you enjoy the TV, asking them for simple tasks or asking questions. You can ask to turn up the volume, go back to the previous channel or ask about the filmography of the actor you are watching, to give a little example. This is obviously possible thanks to the inclusion of a microphone.
The overall performance has improved over the years and the changes that are made are quite fast.
It is important to note that it is a very good operating system if we look at it from a security point of view. It has parental control, DTT certification and its own data protection system.
